Denham Springs Food Truck Festival

Denham Springs Main Street recently held a food truck festival with a car show and live music performances at Pards North Park, located at 30372 Eden Church Road. Espresso Geaux, Off the Hook, and Fab’s Southern Kitchen food trucks were among many others featured at this popular event.

Taste of Louisiana

Food trucks are an ideal way to showcase Louisiana’s robust cuisine and diverse menu options. These mobile kitchens have revolutionized the culinary world by enabling chefs to experiment with traditional ingredients and techniques while still providing customers with an authentic homegrown flavor. Furthermore, these innovative eateries foster community through delicious offerings and exciting events that unite people.

At Creole Soul, a Louisiana-inspired eatery serving oysters, gumbo, shrimp po’boys, and even a Creole corn dog – its owner Hampton Isom had long dreamed of opening such an establishment since moving from Des Moines, Iowa, and establishing Creole Soul last year after opening her restaurant was her dream come true! Isom wanted to bring Louisiana cuisine into her new hometown while creating employment.

Are you hungry for some Louisiana flavor? Stop by PARDS North Park on Eden Church Road this Saturday at noon to experience Louisiana with a food truck festival featuring live performances by Tracy Byrd, Wayne Toups, Thomas Cain, Abby Leigh Konner James & Ben Ragsdale Chase Tyler Band plus a car show for free admission!

Live Music

Alongside abundant food offerings, festival attendees will have access to live musical entertainment by local musicians from rock to blues to country. There will also be a beer and wine garden and an interactive kids’ zone where small children can have their faces painted while receiving balloon animals, art activities, interaction with insects/critters/creatures, etc, and enjoy watching magic shows!

Main Street Denham Springs President Pat Genre credits the success of April’s Food Truck Festival as the catalyst behind this latest effort to attract food vendors into Denham Springs. Genre notes that street vendors specializing in selling food form an insular group. “They know each other, support one another, and seek opportunities in Denham Springs,” she notes.

BRPROUD’s Cajun Country Jam Food Truck Festival will take place June 11 at PARDS North Park in Denham Springs and offers free admission. There will be car shows from the 50s up through today’s models and exotic cars on display. Plus, country artists Tracy Byrd, Wayne Toups, and Chase Tyler Band will perform. Ticket holders are welcome to bring chairs or blankets and relax as they watch this fun event!

Car Show

Southern Muscle American Car and Truck Club will be hosting their car show featuring classic cars, jeeps, and motorcycles, and the winner will receive a trophy! Admission to this free event will also include food for purchase, proceeds from which will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Food trucks have taken over Baton Rouge by storm, appearing at lunchtime on busy streets and camping out for special events. Offering a taste of New Orleans to neighborhoods such as Downtown and LSU while connecting people through food from other regions and countries.

Valera Thibodeaux of Espresso Geaux food truck found her food trailer through Facebook Marketplace and quickly began designing her menu, booking health inspections, and becoming licensed by Baton Rouge City Hall. Her business has flourished significantly since hosting monthly and annual food truck roundups around Baton Rouge.

Cajun Country Jam will feature live music by Tracy Byrd, Wayne Toups, Thomas Cain, Abby Leigh, and Chase Tyler Band as part of its car show at PARDS North Park in Denham Springs. Admission for both events is free; musical performances begin at noon while gates open at 9 a.m.

Kids Activities

Children will love this festival with its games, kiddie rides, delicious food booths, antique stores, art exhibits, and historical train stations! It will run both days from 12-7 PM.

Food trucks often serve lunch on weekdays around town; their true potential lies in events like this. Not only can you enjoy delicious cuisine from across cities and regions, but budding chefs also get an opportunity to demonstrate their culinary chops before an eager audience. Two separate talent shows will feature kids aged five years and up!
