Compass Health Center is dedicated to meeting the community’s need for evidence-based, comprehensive, non-hospital psychiatric care with PHP mental health programs and IOP services provided by board-certified child, adolescent, adult, and addiction psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners.
When weekly outpatient therapy alone isn’t enough or going directly to an ER isn’t an option, a PHP/IOP program could be needed to meet your needs.
PHP and IOP services provide intermediate levels of care designed for situations when your symptoms exceed weekly therapy sessions but do not necessitate inpatient hospitalization or residential treatment. Both offer psychotherapy, recovery education programs, and medication management when appropriate.
PHP and IOP programs provide an intermediate solution for mental health treatment, with participants returning home each evening after attending. This allows them to maintain daily responsibilities and gives them structure and support that will enable them to make long-term behavioral changes that improve their quality of life.
At Compass Health Center, we offer PHP and IOP options that are available both daytime and evening to meet the needs of people living throughout Illinois. When you come in for services at Compass Health Center, we will work with you to identify which level of care would best meet your individual needs based on the severity of your symptoms; you may begin in PHP mode but then transition over to IOP as your symptoms improve.
Compass Health Center provides comprehensive PHP and IOP programs and flexible virtual options that deliver flexible care experiences. Zoom’s HIPAA-compliant teleconferencing platform enables group and individual therapy sessions – many clients find these more beneficial than traditional face-to-face meetings; additionally, it allows people to remain connected with others in recovery while still meeting work or school obligations.
Current offerings of PHP programs for adults living in Illinois include evening PHP programs every weekday evening for individuals whose depressive or anxiety symptoms interfere with work, school, and family responsibilities but do not wish to transition into complete inpatient care. We will soon also offer afternoon/evening IOP programs as an additional solution for individuals having trouble attending morning PHP programs and would benefit from more intensive care than weekly outpatient therapy alone.
Compass Health Center can assist those experiencing depression or anxiety with our exceptional outpatient psychiatric services so they can overcome mental health symptoms and return to feeling like themselves again. With 50+ psychiatrists and nurse practitioners on staff dedicated to treating full-spectrum mood and anxiety symptoms – our convenient outpatient appointments ensure you can access support without leaving home or work.
Our evening Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs provide a cost-effective alternative to inpatient care for adults who require intensive psychiatric treatment but cannot or do not wish to be hospitalized. These group-based therapeutic programs are tailored specifically to meet your needs and offer safe environments where mental health issues can be resolved so you can live the best life possible.
Compass Virtual, created by Compass Health Center in 2021, is the first virtual offering of these programs in Illinois. Offering comprehensive evening programming each weekday for adult patients living in Illinois who are 18 or over with depression, anxiety, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, or Comorbid Substance Use Disorder that has significantly impaired their ability to function and feel good, this program can be found throughout Illinois. It can benefit those impacted by such symptoms as Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Bipolar, and Comorbid Substance Use Disorder.
Compass Health Centers serves patients through board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychologists, licensed marriage and family therapists, social workers, and counselors who specialize exclusively in their specialized roles to deliver superior care.
Compass Virtual, conveniently situated at 11941 Bournefield Way in WestTech Business Park and less than three miles from both Intercounty Connector and Interstate 95, is near restaurants, shopping, and Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center as well as the White Oak Town Center redevelopment project. Kenneth Fellows and Robert Pugh of Edge represented SJ Capital Partners when selling on their behalf.
Our Transgender and Gender-Diverse programs offer a safe and affirming space for those who identify with multiple gender identities to gather, connect, share resources, build community, and increase societal awareness and respect of all gender expressions, such as non-conforming gender expressions (GNC) such as transgender, non-binary gender variant, children adolescents and adults with diverse health conditions (GNC/TGA, gender variant, etc). We take great pride in offering comprehensive care that addresses their emotional, social, and mental health needs with complete wellness solutions!
Psychotherapy and support services for transgender or gender diverse (TGD) individuals are available here at our clinic. Gender identity refers to an individual’s internal perception of themselves, which may not match what was assigned at birth. People transitioning between gender identities often experience feelings such as depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD symptoms, and self-doubt – known as Gender Dysphoria.
Gender-Diverse individuals are at an increased risk for suicide and require access to mental health services that are culturally competent and understand the challenges they face. Compass offers a multidisciplinary team of board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrists, licensed marriage and family therapists, counselors, and nurses dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care.
Our work involves ensuring that patients are addressed by the pronouns and names they prefer when communicating with medical and behavioral health providers and educating providers about TGD patients’ unique issues and concerns. Furthermore, we assist primary medical and behavioral health teams in improving their capacity to deliver gender-affirming integrated healthcare for TGD youth through the national tele-education program TransECHO.
School psychologists play an invaluable role in safeguarding the safety, health, and well-being of Transgender Gender Diverse youth at schools. They ensure TGD students have access to the same rights, opportunities, and resources as cisgender peers – such as supporting gender-inclusive policies and practices, raising awareness about Gender Diversity issues among staff and students, as well as encouraging schools to be culturally competent when engaging with TGD youth.
Compass Behavioral Health offers comprehensive mental, life, and community wellness support through quality therapy services, medication administration, education programs, and 24/7 crisis support to assist people during transition and difficulty.
Intake Specialists are here to assist in the decision-making process surrounding treatment options, insurance inquiries, and more. They conduct an initial phone screening to determine whether or not their services would meet your needs. If that proves successful, they’ll arrange an on-site or virtual comprehensive intake assessment as soon as possible.
IOP (Intensive outpatient programs) provide the next-to-lowest level of treatment after PHP or inpatient care and are designed for individuals who do not wish to leave home, work, or school and whose symptoms are less severe than would require PHP residential-level care. Once accepted into an IOP program, a patient advocate will meet with you to review your specific insurance coverage and financial options.
PHP/IOP programs are ideal for individuals experiencing mental health symptoms in tandem with physical conditions like Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), fibromyalgia, migraines, occipital neuralgia trigeminal neuralgia rheumatoid arthritis osteoarthritis inflammation bowel disease Crohn’s disease Sjogren syndrome gastroparesis pelvic floor dysfunction pain or dysfunction and cyclic Vomit Syndrome.
